Amladcykler electric cargo bike (Familybike), model Ultimate Harmony Product recall – Important safety information

Dear Customer

An investigation by the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU) has revealed that the Amladcykler brand electric cargo bikes (known in Switzerland as Familybike), model Ultimate Harmony, which we sell in Switzerland, have the following defects:

• The stability of the frame is not adequately guaranteed: there is an increased risk that the frame of the cargo bike may crack or even break whilst riding.

• Cornering stability is not adequately guaranteed: there is an increased risk that the cargo bike may tip over when cornering.

According to an investigation by the BFU, these defects pose a serious risk that users, as well as third parties (passengers and other road users), could suffer more than just minor injuries.

The BFU has therefore ordered the recall of all Amladcykler (known in Switzerland as Familybike) Ultimate Harmony electric cargo bikes sold in Switzerland since 2021.

What you need to be aware of and do now

• Please stop using the Amladcykler (known in Switzerland as Familybike) electric cargo bike, model Ultimate Harmony, with immediate effect!

• Please contact us so that we can coordinate the next steps and the return or disposal of the Amladcykler (known in Switzerland as Familybike) electric cargo bike, model Ultimate Harmony!

• And if you are no longer in possession of the Amladcykler (known in Switzerland as Familybike) electric cargo bike, model Ultimate Harmony: please inform the new owner or provide us with their address so that we can contact them!

We deeply regret this situation, particularly as the manufacturer has assured us that the Amladcykler (known in Switzerland as Familybike) Ultimate Harmony electric cargo bikes we distribute in Switzerland are entirely safe.
